The basic Japanese Language Itadakimasu
Before eating, we put our hands together
like the picture and say "itadakimasu",
which literally means that I will take this
with thanks.

When finished eating, we put our hands
together again and say, "gochisousama
deshita." English equivalents are "Thank
you very much. I've had enough" or "I
certainly enjoyed eating it. It was delicious."

The same thing can be said at our School
Lunch. We say together "itadakimasu" and
"gochi sousama deshita"
